Apply a compatible ML-TT font after pasting into your editor.

How to use this Malayalam font converter

  1. Enter Unicode Malayalam in the first box. Use the Manglish typing tool first if your source is written in English letters.
  2. Copy the converted result from the second box.
  3. Paste into your editor and select a compatible ML-TT font, such as ML-TTGauri or MLTT-Karthika. Inspect joined letters and vowel signs before printing.

What does the converter produce?

It maps Unicode Malayalam characters to legacy character codes. The result may look like Latin letters in a standard font; select a matching ML-TT font in your destination application to display Malayalam glyphs. Keep the original Unicode text for websites, search, sharing and accessible documents.

ML-TT fonts may use different mappings, so some conjuncts and symbols can require manual correction. This tool does not install fonts or create font files.

Which fonts match this output?

The converter's character codes match the published mapping for these font families. Install the font on your computer, select it after pasting in Word or your design software, and check the result:

Common questions

Can I type Manglish directly here?

This converter expects Unicode Malayalam. Use the Manglish to Malayalam typing tool first, then paste its Malayalam output here.

Why does the output look like English letters?

Legacy font codes can appear as Latin characters until you apply a compatible ML-TT font in Photoshop, PageMaker or Word.

Can I use this in Photoshop or Microsoft Word?

Yes, when a compatible ML-TT font is installed and selected in the application. Paste the converted text, change the font and check the rendering before saving or printing.

Why does ML_Sree3 show incorrect letters in Word?

ML_Sree3 is not a supported output mode in this converter. Legacy fonts can assign Malayalam glyphs to different character codes, so selecting ML_Sree3 for this ML-TT output can display the wrong letters. Use a converter specifically mapped for ML_Sree3 if that font is required, or paste the original Unicode Malayalam with a Unicode font in Word.

Is the result Unicode Malayalam?

No. The input is Unicode Malayalam; the output is intended for legacy ML-TT font workflows. Use the original input in modern Unicode documents.
