What is the UAE Salary & Gratuity Calculator?

This free calculator combines two common UAE employment calculations. The salary estimator provides a broad profession-based monthly salary range and adjusts it according to relevant years of experience. The gratuity calculator estimates end-of-service benefits for eligible full-time foreign private-sector workers using the standard UAE formula.

How the profession salary estimator works

  1. Select your profession.
  2. Enter your total years of relevant experience.
  3. Optionally add UAE experience.
  4. Enter the salary you expect or plan to negotiate.
  5. The calculator adjusts the profession benchmark according to experience level and compares your target with that range.
Salary data note: UAE salaries are not fixed by profession. Employer size, emirate, industry, qualifications, licensing, language skills, benefits, commissions and the scope of the role can significantly change a package. The displayed figures are planning estimates only.

How the gratuity calculator works

The service period is calculated from the employment start date to the last working date. Any unpaid leave days entered are deducted from the service period before gratuity is estimated. The calculator then applies 21 days of basic wage per year for the first five years and 30 days per year thereafter, with a two-year-wage cap under the standard rule.

Why basic salary matters

For the standard UAE private-sector gratuity calculation, the last basic wage is used rather than the total package including housing, transport and similar allowances. Always check the basic salary shown in your employment contract or payroll records before calculating.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does years of experience affect the salary estimate?

The calculator groups experience into Entry, Junior, Mid-Level, Senior and Expert bands. Each band applies a different multiplier to the profession's base benchmark range.

Does UAE experience increase the estimate?

Total relevant experience drives the main estimate. UAE experience is shown separately because local-market familiarity can strengthen a candidate's profile, but it does not automatically guarantee a higher salary.

Is gratuity based on basic salary or total salary?

The standard gratuity calculation for eligible foreign private-sector workers uses the last basic wage.

Why does the calculator ask for unpaid leave days?

Unpaid absence can affect the service period used for statutory gratuity. Enter excluded days when applicable to improve the estimate.
